Emma Kopa’s specialties include programming, project management, data analysis, and value-added analysis with a focus on education evaluations.
Kopa has developed programs to clean survey data, regression models to predict test scores, and programs to produce teacher and school value-added models. She provides programming support for the design and estimation of value-added models for the District of Columbia Public Schools. To examine the distribution of effective teaching in 29 districts across the country, she also works plays a key role in program development, quality control, and analysis files to for value-added analysis measures. In addition, she has provided programming support for a national study of charter management organizations and an evaluation of teacher induction programs.
Before joining Mathematica, Kopa was a statistician for the U.S. Census Bureau. She holds an M.A. in mathematics from Boston University.
